Welcome to ChowTime (“ChowTime,” “we,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ChowTime mobile and web applications (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least the age of digital consent in your country (16 in the EU/UK). If you are under 18 you must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. We support sign-in via Apple, Google, phone number, and email. You may delete your account at any time from the in-app profile menu; this permanently removes your profile, pins, saved places, follows, and invite codes from our systems.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos, captions, and pins you post (“Your Content”). You grant ChowTime a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g. resize for thumbnails), and display Your Content for the sole purpose of operating and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except to the extent it has already been shared with other users.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that depicts violence or self-harm.
- Impersonate another person, business, or restaurant.
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from the Service.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited messages or to promote competing services.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass technical protections.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and may remove content that violates them, with or without notice.
5. Reporting and takedowns
Use the in-app report button to flag content that violates these Terms. We designate a Copyright Agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512); valid notices may be sent to dmca@chowtimeapp.com.
6. Curated “canon” content
ChowTime includes places associated with public figures (chefs, food writers, creators) drawn from publicly reported sources. We make reasonable efforts to attribute sources and to use only factual, non-promotional information. If you are a public figure who would like a profile claimed, removed, or corrected, contact hello@chowtimeapp.com.
7. Third-party services
Reservations, reviews, and map links open in their respective providers (OpenTable, Resy, Google Maps, Apple Maps, Yelp). Those services have their own terms. We are not responsible for their content or availability.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that any restaurant is open, that prices or hours are current, or that any restaurant information is current or matches your taste.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChowTime’s total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100) or the amount you have paid us in the prior twelve months, whichever is greater.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app at least seven days before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12. Non-affiliation disclaimer
This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any celebrity, chef, food personality, or media company mentioned herein. All restaurant and visit information is sourced from publicly available television broadcasts, YouTube videos, social media posts, news articles, and other published sources. All trademarks, names, and likenesses belong to their respective owners.
